The Uganda Diabetes Association (UDA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that cares for, unites, and advocates for people affected by or at risk of diabetes and their families in Uganda.

UDA was founded by Professor M.A. Otim in 1982 and inaugurated in 1983 by the late Vice President Paul Muwanga.

The Uganda Diabetes Association is registered with the Registrar of Companies and was incorporated on June 28^th, 2006.

We are members of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and Uganda Non-Communicable Disease Alliance (UNCDA)

UDA is a member of the Ministry of Health multisectoral committee on Non-Communicable Diseases.

We take pride in our possession of a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation certificate from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council. This authorization enables us to deliver CPD-accredited courses.

We have 24 branches spread throughout Uganda, namely Mulago, Entebbe, Jinja, Kasese, Bugiri, Tororo, Fortportal, Mbale, Kumi, Soroti, Lira, Gulu, Kabale, Mbarara, Arua, Bushenyi, Mengo, Mityana, Mubende, Masaka, Kitwe, Kawolo, Kiwoko and Busiro East.
